Where is Kolshet Road?

Kolshet Road branches off near Kapurbawdi and Balkum in Thane West, close to where the Eastern Express Highway meets Ghodbunder Road, and runs west towards Kolshet village and the Kolshet Creek waterfront. Dhokali sits along it on the Kapurbawdi end. The area grew around the Kolshet industrial estate; much of that land has been redeveloped into large residential townships.

Why buyers consider Kolshet Road

  • Highway access in two directions within minutes, without living on the highway itself.
  • Newer, larger gated communities with open space, which older parts of Thane can't offer.
  • Established social infrastructure: hospitals, schools and malls are already operating nearby.
  • Prices below Pokhran Road and the lake-side addresses, with a similar commute.

That positions it between Ghodbunder Road (about ₹14,000–25,000 for new projects) and Pokhran Road (about ₹25,000–35,000). Most new supply is in 2 and 3 BHK homes in high-rise towers.

Typical buyer profiles

  • Families upgrading within Thane who want a bigger, newer gated community.
  • Professionals commuting to Thane's offices, Airoli, Powai or BKC by road.
  • Long-term investors betting on the metro network and continued redevelopment.

Advantages

  • Two highways within about 6 minutes.
  • Hospitals, schools and malls already in place.
  • Large townships with open space and amenities.
  • Creek-side greenery and generally quieter internal roads.

Limitations

  • Kapurbawdi Junction congestion at peak hours.
  • Metro and road construction for the next few years.
  • Thane station is a 20–25 minute drive, not walkable.
  • Some remaining industrial pockets along the road.
  • A lot of new supply, which keeps resale competition high.

Major residential projects

  • Lodha Amara: a 40-acre township with thousands of homes and ready towers.
  • Kalpataru Parkcity: a 100+ acre township planned around a large central park and lake.
  • Godrej Ascend: a low-density project on Kolshet Road.
  • Prestige Falcon City Thane: Prestige Group's upcoming development near Kapurbawdi Junction.

Prestige Falcon City Thane's position

Prestige Falcon City Thane sits at the Kapurbawdi end of the corridor, near Kolshet–Balkum Road, which gives it the shortest run to both highways of any project on the road.
